To do list

Behind the scenes footage

We decided to create a behind the scenes video, it includes whilst we were filming and parts that we decided not to use. You can see how much we are enjoying the course and the good relationships that we have behind the scenes will affect how we appear as a girl group on camera.

Unused footage

When editing we found scenes that we didnt include as we found that our narrative storyline didn't fit in with the song as much as we wanted to. As we have a lot of footage in the studio we have decided to change our narrative scene to on the beach which we will be filming next week. We also decided not to include the footage we filmed because the camera quality wasn't as high definition as we expected it to be.

This video was taken before we continued to film in order to set out aims of the session and what we hope to film. Through this video diary we can see what we planned to do and you can see the equipment that we set up in order to film.

Final Digipak

Like the magazine advert, each group member created their own digipak, we decided to use Lauren's digipak as we found that our target audience preferred this most.

Digipack

Below is my digipack, which would be sold in music stores across the UK, it includes the titles of our songs and the front cover to our album as well as extra pictures. I made sure that the style was similar to my magazine advert by making sure the font was the same as well as the colour and making sure that the colour dresses we wear stand out most, I followed a simple design as I found this was most effective with other artists digipacks. I made sure that the album cover and the back of the album were next to each other so that when it is printed and folded it will be in the right place. Again, like the magazine cover, each member of our group have made their own digipack and we will decide on the best one based on a class vote.

As you can see I used photoshop to create my digipack, here I could use various layers as shown in the bottom right hand corner where I can edit each individual and then secure the layer using the lock button. I made sure the digipak would be printed correctly by using guidelines as to where each section needs to go, as if this was to overlay it would mean that some of the image would end up on another page.

These screenshots show the process of editing, as you can see it is a step by step process which included a build up of layers, first i created my front and back cover picture and then began to add text and the other images to be included in the digipack.

An Update

We have recently been finishing off filming which took longer than anticipated as we realised that we needed to include a wider range of shots to use e.g close ups and mid shots to engage or audience. We have begun editing and have found that a lot of our footage fits  to the performance scenes but we need to film more narrative scenes, as a group we have decided to visit a forest where we can film more narrative scenes so that the song 'Ego' is not all based in the studio, we want our music video to be as exciting as possible as well as being one that many of our audience members can relate to.

Magazine Advert Final

Through asking our target audience which magazine advert we should use, we found that Emily's advert would get the most attention for our song so we have decided to use it as our final magazine advert. It's simple but bold design is very effective and attracts the audience without seeming to messy.

Group Magazine Advert

As a group we decided to make individual adverts and then choose the one that we think would attract our audience more effeciently. We all created our own advert and have chosen which one we prefer as realistically the same advert for a music video would be used in different magazines as opposed to different adverts being shown.

We decided to make all our adverts similar in that all four of us will be shown as well as ourband name and the single name, the most important aspect as a group was that each of us are shown with our own colour as this is the factor that makes our group different and stand out.
